Students will be admitted to the Online Master of Accountancy based on a variety of key qualifications. Evaluation criteria will include not only academic success (as represented by a student’s GPA), but also other factors such as professional work experience, leadership experience, and academic aptitude (as displayed by GMAT or GRE scores). Future job potential will be evaluated through interviews by a panel of faculty, staff, and alumni and alumnae representatives from the accounting profession. Additionally, student motivation and readiness will be assessed through review of their statement of objectives included in the application process.

Work experience may be considered in lieu of some admittance requirements. Additionally, students that are employed or otherwise financially supported by an employer (i.e. an accounting firm or corporation) may receive a waiver of some admittance requirements.

About the Crosby MBA

Crosby MBA candidates come from all backgrounds, including science, engineering, liberal arts, journalism, business and health-related fields.  There are no prerequisite courses.  However previous courses in accounting, statistics and finance are helpful. Please  for online resources and classes to help you gain knowledge in these subject areas, if interested.  Our admission standards are high and the curriculum is rigorous.  The Crosby MBA program is AACSB accredited, nationally recognized and highly ranked by U.S. News America’s Best Office of Graduate Studiess, Forbes, Princeton Review, and The Wall Street Journal.

Admission requirements

Factors considered in the admissions decision include post-graduation work experience; professional internships and/or co-ops; leadership, community involvement and service; quality of undergraduate work (GPA) and rigor of coursework; competitive score on the GMAT or GRE and career focus and self-awareness demonstrated in question responses and interview.  A baccalaureate degree in any discipline from an accredited school is required.  Interviews by invitation will also be conducted. International applicants to the Crosby MBA Program

Applications are similar to those for domestic students, but an international student whose native language is not English is required to present an acceptable score on either the TOEFL or the IELTS.

Deadlines for application to the Crosby MBA

Students can begin the MBA program in the Spring or Fall semester. Priority deadlines are as follows:

  • For the Spring: September 1; November 1 (final deadline for international students) and December 1 (final deadline for domestic students).
  • For the Fall: November 1; January 15; March 1; April 15; May 15 (final deadline for international students) and July 1 (final deadline for domestic students).

Admission requirements

All applicants to the Trulaske execMBA must have a minimum of 5 years of professional work experience, significant leadership experience, and a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Other factors considered in admission include undergraduate GPA and a personal statement addressing criteria outlined on the execMBA website. GMAT and GRE scores, as well as letters of recommendation, will be accepted but are not required. Interviews are by invitation only.

About the Doctorate in Business Administration

The PhD program is designed to prepare graduates for careers as effective University researchers and teachers or for senior research positions in business or government. A primary objective of the program is to train PhD candidates to become proficient researchers. Therefore, course work involves research activities such as literature review and critique, theoretical modeling, research design, computer-assisted empirical analysis and preparation of proposals and research papers. Another objective is to train students to become high-quality teachers. PhD candidates are provided the opportunity to teach undergraduate courses in their specialty area. In addition, students are expected to participate in national and regional academic conferences and are encouraged to work with faculty in developing individual research and teaching skills.

Missouri State Law requires that students who have a teaching assistantship achieve a certain level of proficiency on an oral language assessment, https://gradstudies.missouri.edu/itap-program/.  All Trulaske College of Business students are assigned as teaching assistants for at least one year of their program. Students are required to achieve the required proficiency score in order to receive financial support by fulfilling that teaching assignment and maintain good standing in the program.

Finance, Master of Science

100% Online

NOTE: This program is blended. You may complete all course work online but a one-week international experience practicum is required. If a student is unable to travel due to immigration visa or other travel restrictions, an alternative international business elective would be taken in place of the international experience.

Admission Criteria

Minimum requirements are a bachelor’s degree from a college or University recognized by a regional accrediting agency in the U.S. and a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the final 60 credit hours. Degrees from non-U.S. institutions must be recognized and approved by the Ministry of Education or Commission responsible for higher education in the country where the degree-granting institution is located. Please refer to the Office of Graduate Studies web page for all degree requirements.

Neither a GMAT nor a GRE score is required but will be considered if submitted. Factors considered in the admissions decision include the quality and rigor of undergraduate classwork, potential for graduate work in finance, and career focus. Evidence to support these factors include items such as the personal statement portion of the application, any internships or post-graduation work experience, community involvement and service, and an interview (if requested by the admissions committee).

Deadlines for application to the MS Finance

Students can begin the MS Finance program in any semester. During the Spring and Fall semester, they may also start mid-term and enroll in courses during the second eight week term.  The second eight week term typically begins in mid-March for the Spring semester and mid-October for the Fall semester. Duration of MS Finance courses is eight weeks (four weeks for 1½-credit courses), so entry is possible at mid-semester. Deadlines are as follows:

  • Spring: December 15 (February 15 for mid-term entry)
  • Summer: April 1
  • Fall: July 15 (September 15 for mid-term entry)

International applicants to the MS Finance Program

Applications are similar to those for domestic students, but an international student whose native language is not English is required to present an acceptable score on either the TOEFL or the IELTS. Please note that because the program can be completed fully online, immigration documents will not be issued. International students will be limited to online courses unless they have a current visa that allows them to study in the United States.
