A Message from the Associate Vice Chancellor
Welcome to the site of the University of Missouri's Office of Graduate Studies. Mizzou is home to more than one hundred graduate programs across many different schools and colleges. In these pages you will learn about these degree programs, admissions requirements, programs of study, financial aid for graduate students, and how to apply to be a graduate student at the university.
These pages also contain a wealth of other information about graduate education at Mizzou, including descriptions of interdisciplinary programs; initiatives through our Center for Inclusive Excellence; professional development for graduate students and postdocs; our Minor in College Teaching; language, culture, and teaching training for international teaching assistants; and a range of other opportunities for students to expand upon the depth of knowledge they are acquiring in the classroom, library, and laboratory. Please browse through these pages, and do not hesitate to ask a staff member if you have questions.
Of course you will also learn about the policies shaping graduate education at the university and find forms that chart your academic progress through your program.
These academic policies are shaped by the university's Graduate Faculty Senate, a peer-elected body that oversees graduate curriculum at the university. The senate also guides the Office of Graduate Studies staff and associate vice chancellor in maintaining standards and ensuring the best quality of life for students and faculty alike.
Finally, you will learn about the great University of Missouri, one of the nation's foremost public research universities, home to outstanding research and education, and a member of the prestigious Association of American Universities since 1908. If you decide to come to MU to pursue your education, you will be joining thousands who have taken what they have learned here to make a tremendous difference in the world. If you like what you learn here, please visit campus or contact us. Graduate Studies staff are here to help, regardless of the kind of assistance you seek.
