According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), "Entrepreneurship plays a vital role in the growth of the U.S. economy" and the growth of new businesses is on an upward trend. Source

Unfortunately, each year many new businesses fail, too. The BLS reports that some of the factors leading to the "death"of a business include the state of the economy, age of the business, type of industry, and size of the firm.   

So what does it take to launch and sustain a viable business?  

For starters, you'll need to gain business knowledge and create a plan. Then you'll need a mentor. And perhaps, when you're ready, an Angel Investor - someone to help fund your business or innovation.
